Me

Jeanne Feeney is a bodyworker and movement therapist who has been a Certified Practitioner of Body-Mind Centering ® (BMC®) since 1989. She brings her creativity as a dancer and choreographer to her work with clients of all ages encouraging and facilitating their individual paths to health.

She directs the Movement Laboratory where she has a private practice and teaches movement classes and workshops at her Studio at Squid Row in Santa Cruz, CA.

Drawn to study BMC® after it healed her injured wrists, Jeanne used the work in a variety of settings and found it to be remarkably versatile and life changing for individuals and groups alike. She brought Movement Laboratory to corporate settings, to new mothers and their infants in challenged conditions and to adults and children seeking pain relief and movement integration.

CNN interviewed Jeanne and her Movement Laboratory prenatal movement class was spotlighted in a feature about pre and perinatal psychology and health. She has also applied some of the powerful movement principals of BMC® to the choreography of an award winning musical and to graduate and undergraduate students of dance as well as retreats and conferences in the US and Mexico.

The movement and hands on work of Jeanne Feeney has reached clients in Santa Cruz, the Washington DC metropolitan area, New York City, several European cites and Japan. She was a faculty member of the Studio Theatre Acting Conservatory in Washington DC for 7 years. From 2006-2013, Jeanne taught in the parent/infant and parent/toddler classes at the Washington Waldorf School in Bethesda, MD. She has been a guest artist in dance at the Center for New Dance Development in the Netherlands and has taught workshops at Colorado College, American University, George Washington University, University of Maryland and Connecticut College, her alma mater.

In my movement and healing work with clients, I strive to transmit the idea that through the embodiment of ourselves, in body mind and spirit, we not only feel better but know better our unique gifts for the world.
