Why is it important for a baby to crawl?

There is alot I can say about this but, to put it simply, not only crawling but all potential movements (primitve reflexes, righting reactions and crawling) present for development during the first year of life are the origins of all future movement a person makes. It's the language of the child's first year. The more a child has access to the alphabet of movement, the better the child will be able to express his or herself in the body.
